The title צונמי ביפן (Tsunami In Japan) appears only once in the entire Torah.
Translation for the table below:

BIG EARTQUAKE רעש גדול
THIS IS MINIMAL IN THE TORAH, LETTER AFTER LETTER
בתשע I 770 - תשנ"ד 5754
WHEN THE BIG ONE HAPPENED THERE.ABOUT 16 YEARS AGO WHICH CAUSED BIG DAMAGE.(INTERESTING THE WORD THREAT IS WRITTEN NEXT TO THIS YEAR)
לא קליפ LA CLIFE
איום הוא IT IS A THREAT
בהתשע IN 5770
לא קליפ-L.A. CLIF
There is one Torah Code that has everyone buzzing, and that is the table about a possible earthquake in Los Angeles this year, 2010.
It is important that we don't assume the Torah Code can be used to make predictions. This is because we simply don't have enough information to ask the right questions. In the past, it has resulted in tables that were wrong, or that never happened. Professor Eliyahu Rips strongly suggests that the Torah Code is not a reliable source to use for predictions.
However, I am able to relate a few times where the Code actually did make accurate predictions. I believe those were meant to be. They came at a time when they needed to appear for the purpose of saving lives. The information was vital and timely. The recipients of this information were fortuneate, yet the way the message is interpreted can often create even more questions than answers.
One of these predictions was made by Professor Rips, a brilliant mathematician and most noted as the discoverer of the Code along with Witztum and Rosenberg. The finding in the Torah Code was remarkable in that it included the key words "SADDAM HUSSEIN" perpendicular to the phrase "FIRE ON THE THIRD OF SHEVAT." In that year (1991) it was on January 18th -- the day that the first Iraqi missiles hit Israel. Coincidence?
The next noteworthy prediction came later, when Michael Drosnin, author of The Bible Code, found a table that predicted the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. Drosnin's table clearly indicated "ASSASSIN THAT WILL ASSASSINATE" crossing Rabin's name. The table appeared on the cover of this best-seller when it was published in 1997. The table was discovered about a year before Rabin was actually assassinated. Further investigation by the Torah Code team uncovered additional information in the Codes about Rabin and a possible conspiracy.
On pages 141 -142 of Drosnin's book are tables about an earthquake in LA. I purchased a copy of his book in those days and was intrigued with all the prophetic information that seemed to appear. In this and his subsequent "Bible Code II" book, there were tables that predicted all kinds of destruction: a comet, a nuclear holocaust, other earthquakes in China and Japan. Since then, the truly horrific predictions have fortunately not come to pass at the times that were indicated -- several of them for the year 2006. What does that mean?
In those early days of code research there wasn't a way to really test the tables for statistical significance the way they do today. Short of having a cluster computer to run experiments on thousands of monkey text comparisons, another method today also seems helpful, if not viable. That method is to only use key words (a priori, or chosen in advance) that have a minimal appearance in the Torah, (fewest number of times they appear in the whole Torah) with the smallest ELS skips. (ELS= Equidistant Letter Sequencing).
The topic of a large earthquake in LA has been one that concerns all of us. I live in the LA area -- a county that is so vast that it envelops many other cities almost to the edge of the desert. In one of Drosnin's tables there were two years indicated -- the Hebrew year of 5754 (1994) along with 5770 (2010). The reason this particular table caught my attention is because we actually did have a large earthquake in 1994, the Northridge quake, which did $20 billion in damage.
The fact that the Northridge quake did occurr as in the Torah Code made me wonder if the subsequence 2010 prediction in that very same same table might be valid. But this table was now 16 years old and it was time to create one based on our enhanced knowledge of the Torah Codes.
Rabbi Glazerson is a noted author and expert on the Torah Codes. Using the key words in the old Drosnin table, he and Dr. Rotenberg created two new tables. Glazerson is quick to point out that he only used the words that were minimal in the Torah, (words that only appear a few times in the entire Torah) as well as using minimal ELS skips to enhance the significance of the table. The first table entitled "Big Earthquake in California" is a complete remake of the Drosnin table with new information in it. The words "A Threat" were discovered. Similarly, the dates were there with minimal appearances in the whole Torah. Interestingly, the date of 2010 is found nine times in the Torah, and also has an ELS skip of 9. It happens occasionally.
But the table that Glazerson was most impressed with was the one we've titled "L.A. Calif." The phrase "IN 5770" appears only once in the entire Torah, and has the best meeting with the word EARTHQUAKE, appearing on the same line of text. If you understand what the computer goes through to render these tables, the idea that related codes end up appearing next to each other on the same line is rather extraordinary. The Hebrew abbreviation for LA Calif, (seen as "LA CLIF") appears centered in the table. The phrase, "THIS IS A THREAT" appears with minimal skips. Whether the Torah Code is saying that we are being threatened by an earthquake, or that there is merely the threat of an earthquake occurring, is up for discussion. The table was found in the book of Genesis and needed not to use the entire Torah to create it, which makes it more statistically significant. Finding this much information within a search area of approx. 20% of the entire Torah may also be significant. This happened before in Prof. Rips table on the Twin Towers, where almost everything that came up was found in the book of Numbers, chapter 20. The Twin Towers table was incredibly small and no monkey text has been able to duplicate the compactness of that table. The Torah as of this year is 3,322 years old.
Should we expect an earthquake? I would say not to alter your lives over these tables, but it could be a warning to at least be better prepared in the event it happens. Scientists for years have said that California is bracing for "the big one," and since there have been an enormous number of quakes in the past three months with significant strength, it doesn't seem all that unlikely that we might experience a quake this year. The last big earthquake near Mexicali is still rumbling with aftershocks. According to the USGS, there have been over 600 smaller aftershocks in the area just in the past few weeks. If the Glazerson/Rotenberg tables are correct, then perhaps there are exceptions to the Torah Codes where their origin which many believe was Divinely inspired, might be available to us now for reasons of gaining additional insight about our world and our current situations. Or, perhaps it's now being revealed to help us better prepare for what is to come.
L.A. earthquake in 2010, a prediction?
If you happen to have a copy of Michael Drosnin's first book, The Bible Code, you may have seen the tables "GREAT EARTHQUAKE" "2010" and so forth. There is more than one table in the book on the prospect of a major earthquake in LA this year. Some readers have commented and written to ask if we could investigate it.
It's true that there have been codes in Drosnin's books that haven't come to pass. There were some huge catastrophes that never happened, such as a comet in 2006 or a nuclear war the same year, (see Bible Code II). Some of the codes were spot on, and others didn't come to pass. Drosnin fudges by saying the Codes merely warn of possible outcomes. However, there is always room for insight, common sense, and an understanding of the way the ancient Torah often describes events. All the computer power in the world can't compete with insight and a knowledge of the way the Torah often speaks. If you find a website that tells you the date of the Second coming is encoded in the Torah, don't believe it. If a table doesn't happen, then there are a myriad of possible explanations. The fact is that sometimes the tables are totally accurate.
To see most of the Drosnin's tables, I'd recommend you purchase the original Bible Code book. Now a bargain on Amazon and a reference that is still one that Code researchers need in their collection. Okay, back to the article…
One of Drosnin's LA Earthquake tables include the following key words: (page 142, The Bible Code)
5770 / 2010
the other table he discovered had these key words: (page 141)
IN 5770 / 2010
5754 / 1994
This alternate set of key words is particularly interesting, in that even though this table wasn't released until 1997, it did indicate that there were two dates for an L.A. earthquake, one in 1994 and the other to occur this year. We know that the 1994 quake actually did happen. It is referred to as the "Northridge" quake which had a magnitude of 6.7 and lasted for about 45 seconds. It did $20 billion in damage. Could there be another one looming this year? Interesting they are both found within the same table.
My system is setup to receive USGS earthquake updates from around the world, but only those that are 6.0 or greater. Since April 11, 2010, I've received a dozen notices of large earthquakes -- one occurring about every two to five days. That doesn't include the hundreds of minor aftershocks or smaller temblors (less than 6.0) around the world. So it would seem that the Pacific rim is highly in motion right now, not to mention an increase as well in volcanic activity. it wouldn't seem all that unlikely that California might experience another quake. In fact, on May 4 there was a quake near Mexicali. (See video). Is it significant that a table found by Drosnin in a 1997 book would predict something larger in L.A.? I find it difficult to ignore as mere coincidence.
At this stage, running Drosnin's tables through a cluster computer is expensive and time consuming. However, Rabbi Glazerson did some checking on the Drosnin table and found some interesting results. He also found additional words within the same matrix.
Glazerson related to me, "The appearance of BIG EARTHQUAKE is minimal in the whole Torah. IN 5770 is the ninth minimal in the Torah but the best meeting with BIG EARTHQUAKE. (the date) 1994 is the sixth minimal, but the best meeting with BIG EARTHQUAKE. Then I have in this table the word THREAT, letter after letter." He also found the word "punishment" ever four letters. in his tests, Glazerson also tried the same key words in War and Peace. He said that he also found them, but not as in the Torah. Most of the time, when the Torah tables are compared to other random texts, the clusters of words appear more compact and often in parallel rows to each other.

The story of the May 31, 2010 Gaza flotilla actually begins a few years earlier in June 7-15, 2007, when the terrorist Hamas organization, after winning the majority in the Palestinian Legislative election of 2006, initiated a violent blood soaked coup of the Gaza strip. Hundreds of Palestinians were killed and many hundreds of Palestinians were wounded. Hamas targeted and killed civilians, held public executions of Fatah supporters, (Fatah is the opposition party to Hamas) threw prisoners off high-rise apartment buildings, and engaged in shooting their guns from jeeps marked with "TV" insignias. Such actions by Hamas were clear violations of international humanitarian law and in fact constituted war crimes.
As a result of the illegal takeover, the territory formally controlled by the Palestinian Authority is now divided into two entities: the Hamas-controlled government of the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank, governed by the Palestinian National Authority.
Hamas is a terrorist organization with an official policy position to end Israel's existence as a Jewish State. Hamas is the organization responsible for firing over 6 thousand rockets against Israeli civilians, Israeli homes and schools. After its illegal takeover of Gaza, both Israel and Egypt declared a blockade against Hamas controlled Gaza to prevent weapons, armaments, Iranian missiles, or war material that could be used to produce weapons or missiles to enter Gaza. The purpose of the blockade was to prevent the possibility that Hamas would have weapons to carry out its threat to destroy Israel.
Under international law Israel is within its rights to establish a maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip, since Gaza is ruled by Hamas, a hostile terrorist entity that has launched missiles into Israel targeting and killing civilians, and has also infiltrated and attempted to infiltrate into Israel in order to carry out attacks. There is therefore a state of armed conflict between Hamas-ruled Gaza and the State of Israel. In such a situation Israel is permitted, under International Law, to blockade the territory of its adversary, providing the blockade does not result in starving the civilian population.
The Flotilla to Gaza, a flotilla of six ships sailing from Turkey to Cyprus and then on May 30, 2010 from Cyprus to Gaza, was an effort by its organizers, the Free Gaza Movement and the Turkish Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief (IHH) to break the blockade. The IHH, by the way, is not just a humanitarian relief agency. It is an NGO that played an important role in a plot to bomb the Los Angeles airport on New Year's Day, 2000. It has been involved in numerous cover-up activities like creating forged documents and assisting different forms of infiltration for Mujahideen in combat. Indeed it has a radical Islamic anti Western orientation supporting radical Islamic networks including Hamas and global jihad elements. For more information see the terrorist-info.org website.
The Flotilla to Gaza was, as well an effort by Turkey to compete with Iran and eclipse the Middle East leadership role Iran has been trying to play. Indeed, the prime minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Ergogan, had a direct role in supporting the flotilla, and making sure that trained operatives were able to board one of the ships, the Mavi Marmara, without having to undergo the usual security checks and paperwork that passengers on a ship leaving Turkey have to have.
Ralph Peters in a June 1,2010 article in the New York Post wrote:
Yesterday's "aid convoy" incident off the coast of Gaza wasn't about bringing humanitarian supplies to the terrorist-ruled territory. It wasn't even about Israel. It was about Turkey's determination to position itself as the leading Muslim state in the Middle East. Three ships of that six-ship pro-terror convoy flew Turkish flags and were crowded with Turkish citizens. The Ankara government -- led by Islamists these days-- sponsored the "aid" operation in a move to position itself as the new champion of the Palestinians. And Turkish decision-makers knew Israel would have to react -- and were waiting to exploit the inevitable clash. The provocation was as cynical as it was carefully orchestrated.
Among the passengers on the Mavi Marmara were: Hamas activist Ken O'Keefe, whose objective was to reach the Gaza Strip in order to establish and train a Hamas commando unit; Turkish citizen Hassan Iynasi, member of a Turkish charity trust that regularly transfered financial aid to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad; Turkish citizen Hussein Urosh, assistant to the IHH organisation, who was supposed to arrive in the Gaza Strip to assist the transfer of members of Al Qaeda via Turkey. Indeed, there was a group of over 50 Mavi Marmara passengers with terrorist connections who were not carrying passports and have refused to identify themselves. Many of them were carrying envelopes packed with thousands of dollars in cash.
The alleged purpose of the flotilla of 6 ships, lead by the Mavi Marmara, was to be a humanitarian aid convoy to Gaza, carrying 10,000 tons of supplies and 682 passengers. Its primary purpose was something far different. On May 31, 2010, as this flotilla of 6 ships was about 80 miles from Gaza, in the Mediterranean Sea, the Israeli Navy contacted the ships to ask them their destination. They said Gaza. They were told that there was a blockade on entering Gaza and that they should port in Ashdod, where the ship's cargo could be inspected and from there non-banned items transported to Gaza by truck. The flotilla replied that they intended break the blockade and port in Gaza. This was its real purpose. See a video of the actual communication between the Israeli Navy and the Mavi Marmara. It is clear that Israel offered to have all the food, medicine and other humanitarian goods sent to Gaza, if the boats agreed to port in Ashdod. That humanitarian offer was soundly rejected by the captain of the Mavi Marmara and rejected a few days earlier when the offer was made to the the leaders of the flotilla. They publicly announced: "This mission is not about delivering humanitarian supplies, it's about breaking Israel's siege on 1.5 million Palestinians."
From this kind of pronouncement, one might think that there is a shortage of food or medical supplies in Gaza. But in fact this is not the case. On June 1, 2010 Danish reporter Steffen Jensen visited Gaza to see how bad things really were. This is what he wrote:
Yesterday I drove into the Gaza Strip. I don't do this as often as before [because it takes much longer to get through the checkpoints now.] This time, I had expected to see real suffering, because with all the fuss in recent days about bringing tons of humanitarian relief in - so much that people actually sacrificed their lives for it - there certainly had to really be a deep, desperate situation in the Gaza Strip. No food. Long queues in front of UN food stocks. Hungry children with food bowls.
But this was not the picture that greeted me. I will not say whether, in better times has been a larger product range than there was yesterday. But there was certainly no shortage of vegetables, fruits or any other ordinary, basic foods. Tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, watermelons, potatoes - mountains of these items in the many stalls.
I must admit I was a little surprised. Because when I call down here to my Palestinian friends, they tell me about all the problems and deficiencies. And the first woman we interviewed in the market confirms this strange, contradictory, negative mindset:
We have nothing. We need everything! Food, drinks ... everything!
It disturbed her not at least that she stood between the mountains of vegetables, fruit, eggs, poultry and fish, while she spun this doomsday scenario.
Humanitarian Aid Israel Permits to Gaza
Over one million tons of humanitarian supplies were delivered by Israel to the people of Gaza in the past 18 months, that is equal to nearly one ton of aid for every man, woman and child in Gaza
In the first quarter of 2010 alone (January-March), Israel delivered 94,500 tons of supplies to Gaza. Some of the food included:
• 40,000 tons of wheat, which is equal to 53 million loaves of bread;
• 2,760 tons of rice, which equals 69 million servings;
• 1,987 tons of clothes and footwear, the equivalent weight of 3.6 million pairs of jeans;
• 553 tons of milk powder and baby food, equivalent to over 3.1 million days of formula for an average six-month-old baby.
When the flotilla was about 70 miles out from Gaza, Israel enforced its blockade by sending Israeli commandos to sieze the ships. The commandos repelled down ropes from a helicopter. On five of the ships they encountered no resistance. On the Mavi Marmara, they were met with armed preplanned violence: 40 hard core IHH murderous mercenaries operatives, who knifed them and beat them with wood and metal clubs, chains, large hammers and other kinds of sharp metal objects; they were hit by slingshots and rocks. When the commandos realized that that this was an organized premeditated action and that their lives were in danger, they switched from firing paint ball guns to real guns. The fighting lasted about one hour. Nine terrorists were killed and dozens wounded. Seven commandos were severely beaten or shot.
Intrigue and Deception
So we have in the Gaza flotilla intrigues and deceptions on a number of levels. Intrigue Number 1 comes about because the United States has become nearly irrelevant as a leader in the Middle East. Hence Turkey makes a move to overtake Iran as the leader in the Middle East by supporting the flotilla. Intrigue Number 2 is that the purpose of the humanitarian convoy of the 6 ships to Gaza was not to deliver the humanitarian aid to Gaza, but to break the legally established blockade around Gaza. Intrigue Number 3 is that the Mavi Marmara, the lead ship in the flotilla, had on board not only 510 peacenik passengers, but 40 IHH mercenary operatives, whose purpose was to violently beat and lynch the Israeli commandos as they came on board to steer the ship to the Ashdod port. The outer level of each intrigue makes a good public relations stories against Israel by news organizations and politicians who either cannot discern what is really going on or who wish to play into the intrigues themselves.
In a word, the world reaction to the violence that occured on the Mavi Marmara was global condemnation, uniformly against Israel, as if Israel did not have a right to enforce the Gaza blockade. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the raid was a "state terror" and decided to return from a state visit to Chile. The Arab League called an emergency meeting on 1 June to discuss what it called Israel's "terrorist act" against the flotilla. The President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek called it "an unjustified attack" and "a clear and unacceptable breach of international law". The United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said that
United States supports the United Nations Security Council's condemnation of the acts leading to this tragedy, and we urge Israel to permit full consular access to the individuals involved, and to allow the countries concerned to retrieve their deceased and wounded immediately.
End of Times
We see rhetoric against Israel increasing. Eventually, the rhetoric will change to military action. All the nations of the world will be against Israel. We will then be witnesssing what has been foretold in the time before Moshiach.
It shall be on that day that I will make Jerusalem for all the peoples a burdensome stone, all whose bearers become lacerated; and all the nations of the world will gather against it. On that day -- the word of Hashem -- I will strike every horse with confusion and its rider with madness. But I will open the eyes to the House of Judah, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. (Zechariah 12: 2-4.)
Targum Yonaton is an Aramaic translation and commentary on Torah along with aggadic material and is thought to date from the tenth century. In the section on parshat Balak, there is a discussion of ships coming against Israel from Turkey, among other nations. We read from a translation provided by Dan Stochel
And ships loaded with many different kinds of weapons will be transported on large boats filled with many people joining together from Lombard, via the Italian region, who will join legions heralding from Constantinople (Turkey). They will have (past and present) caused great pain for the Assyrians (Armenians/Kurds-genocide) and attempt to rule over the Hebrew children, but, the end for all of these (enemy forces), is to fall into the hands of our King Mashiach who will obliterate them, forever.
There are a number of dimensions of the Gaza Flotilla event for which we can explore Torah code tables. The first area we explore is dominated by the name of the event. In English it would be called Gaza Flotilla. If one examines the first dictionary definition of flotilla, it is a fleet of typically small naval vessels, two or more squadrons moving in some coordinated activity. The second meaning is that of a group moving together, with no requirement that the group have anything to do with boats or ships. The Hebrew word for the first meaning of flotilla is שייטת. However, in Hebrew the exclusive meaning of שייטת is that of a military naval flotilla. The Hebrew word in current useage for a flotilla of ships as the Gaza flotilla is משט. If we were to translate the word משט to English, the translation would be the sail, in the sense of the sail toward or the sailing toward. Indeed the phrase used in the Hebrew newspapers for Gaza flotilla is משט לעזה, literally the sail to Gaza. So our first group of Torah code tables is built around the phrase משט לעזה, sail to Gaza.
The experimental setup is shown in the possibility table below.
This is the table of possiblities among which the first flotilla Torah code experiment searched.
We show the Torah code tables in the order of most significant to least significant.
The search produced a cylinder size of 22 columns. With expected number of ELSs set to 50, the probability that a text from the ELS random placement text population would have as compact a table as that produced by the Torah text is 2.5/10,000.

The ancient Mayans welcomed spirit into their everyday living. Every movement was lived as a ritual edifice. Their religious perspectives and practices helped align their consciousness with the sanctity and unity of all that was around them. The earth, the deserts, the mountains, the rivers, and the stars were all alive and patterned with meaning. The Mayans belonged to these worlds of nature. They remembered them, maintained them, took care of them, and lived their sacred life with them.
The Mayans are among the oldest of the Mesoamerican peoples. They were a diverse people speaking 31 languages (David Webster, The Fall of the Ancient Maya Thames and Hudson, London 2002, p40). They occupied the geographic areas known today as southeastern Mexico, especially the Yucatan Penninsula, and the Central American areas known today as Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Belize.
Of the pre-Columbian Americas, the Mayans are the principle people who developed a fully written language. The script is called logosyllabic. Individual symbols ("glyphs") could represent either a word (actually a morpheme) or a syllable; indeed, the same glyph could often be used for both. Recent archaeological finds in Guatemala date the earliest Mayan writing found so far to about 250 BCE. The Mayan culture had spectacular art, monumental architecture with pyramids, and a sophisticated mathematical and astronomical understanding.
It is interesting that in 1935 Sylvanus Griswold Morley wrote,
When the material achievements of the ancient Maya in architecture, sculpture, cermaics, the lapidary arts, feather-work, cotton-weaving and dyeing are added to their abstract intellectual achievements -- invention of the positional mathematics with its concomitant development of zero, construction of an elaborate chronology with a fixed starting point, use of a time-count as accurate as our own Gregorian Calendar, knowledge of astronomy superior to that of the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians -- and the whole judged in the light of their known cultural limitations, which were on par with those of the early Neolithic Age in the Old World, we may acclaim them, without fear of successful contradiction, the most brillian aboriginal people on this planet. (Guidebook to the Ruins of Quirigua)
Some think that the earliest record known of the Maya in Belize date back to 2500 B.C. when they inhabited the area now known as Cuello. Others think that the Mayan civilization began with villages of farmers in the area of Cuello around 2000 BC in an area that has been associated with the ancient Olmec people. Such dates, however, are not certain. The Mayan archeaologist, Arthur Demarest, writes
... the data on the early development of lowland Maya civiliation is currently so poor that it virtually defies synthesis and interpretation. (Ancient Maya, the rise and fall of a rain forest civilization, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2007, p. 58)
The truth, however, is that we do not know what may have been going on in the Maya lowlands before about 1000 BC and whether that region had its own precocious Early Preclassic centers with their own original local developments and direct contacts with the other evolving cultures of this period, including those of the Gulf coast Olmec region. (ibid, p. 66)
Archaeological evidence of the preclassic period Mayans in small agricultural communties appear to be dated around 1400-1200 BCE. These archaeological finds include pottery, permanent houses, and outer accouterments of settled life (The Fall of the Ancient Maya p. 44). Centers such as Paso del la Amada and Chiapas had large stone structures that are thought to have been used for ritual feasts.
Indeed, it is certain that the red pottery used for dishes and bowls, called the Swasey pottery, found at Cuello dates from about 1200 BCE - 900 BCE (Nicholas Saunders, Ancient Americas, Sutton, Gloucestershire, 2004, p.75). Other Maya cultural features were found in this period: houses clustered around a central patio; the dead buried beneath the floors of house; maize a staple food; and chert used to make stone tools (Ancient Americas p. 75).
The Mayan Calendar
Perhaps the Mayans are most known for their multiple calendars which have various cycles. Astronomically, the calenders were used for keeping track of the planetary positions of Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter and predicting astronomical events such as eclipses and sunspot cycles. But these astronomical events were not lived as external. They were lived as internal: each astronomical event was spiritualy tied to a state of being and aliveness.
It is interesting that none of the Mayan languages have a word for time. The Mayans considered time not as linear time but as cyclic. The Mayans believed that the cyclical influences of the past synergistically create the context for the present, and by knowing the context for the present and the past cycles, one can forsee its cyclical influence into the future. Thus the events of one period of linear time would be contextually repeated in another period of linear time occupying the same position in the cycle.
For the purpose of keeping track of cycles, the Mayans had multiple calendars. The Mayan long count calendar, a calendar of 1,872,000 days, slightly more than 5125 years, has been aligned or correlated to our Gregorian calendar. The most commonly held correlation to the beginning of the Mayan long count calendar is Julian Day 584,283, (known as the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson correlation) although some think 584,285. This puts the beginning of the Mayan calendar to be August 11, 3114 BCE on the proleptic Gregorian calendar or September 6, 3114 BCE on the proleptic Julian calendar. (Note that those, like astronomers, who use the convention that the year that precedes 1 CE is 0 BCE will write 3113 BCE or simply -3113. This is what Arguelles (personal communication) does in his book The Mayan Factor, Bear and Company, Sante Fe, 1987 p. 41.) The Mayans considered as special the time of the ending of a cycle and the beginning of the next. They associated the end of the long count calendar and the beginning of its next cycle as a propitious time in which change and enlightenment would occur.
There are other Mayan calendars with shorter cycles of 20 days, 260 days, 365 days, 52 years. The 13 cycles of 20 days, a total of 260 days, constitutes the sacred calendar, called the Tzolkin. 52 cyles of the 365 day calendar, called the Haab, equals 73 cycles of the 260 day calendar (52x365=73x260). So one sometimes reads, though not quite correctly, that the Mayan 260 day calendar syncs with our solar calendar every 52 years. Our solar year is about 365.2422 days long. The synchronization mentioned in the popular literature is between the Mayan 260 day calendar and the Mayan 365 day calendar.
There are many properties of the pyramids that the Mayans built that correspond to these various cycle lengths. Arguelles, in his book The Mayan Factor, discusses how the various symbols of the Mayans have within their shapes these cycle lengths and other related numbers. He describes how the Mayan calendar, their writing symbols, and their architecture are the keys to a resonance phenomena, a resonance between the Mayan consciousness and the galaxy. Thus the historical events associated with the various calendar times in the cycles become a kind of guide for consciousness in experiencing time, as well as a kind of prophetic history. The internal experience and the historical events of the external world are in resonance. It is no surprise, therefore, that the Mayans were careful historical record keepers. Bernal Diaz del Castillo, who accompanied the Spanish conquistador Cortez, reported that the Mayans had books made from the bark of a tree. In these books they recorded past events and deeds by means of signs and symbols.
The multiple cultures in which the word Maya occurs is also interesting. In the Hindu culture, Maya, is a Sanskrit word meaning the sense-world of the manifold phenomena of physical reality. It is maya which conceals the absolute. Thus maya is an illusion. In the Buddhist culture, Maya is the mother who gave birth to Buddha. In the Greek culture, Maia was the virgin mother of Hermes, who is the god of communication and commerce. One of the seven sister stars in the Pleides group is named Maia. Ancient Ceylon was divided into three provinces and Maya was the central division of the island. The Ceylonese Maya were known for their impressive astronomical knowledge, their architectural marvels, temples, and irrigation ponds. (William Knighton, The History of Ceylon, Colombo Ceylon, 1845.) All this suggests that there is some ancient universal teaching associated with the concept of maya, different parts of which are remembered and modulated by different cultures.
The biblical Enoch was the son of Yered who was the great great grandson of Seth, a son of Adam. Enoch lived 365 years, from 622 to 987 on the Jewish calendar. The beginning of the long count Mayan calendar is taken to be in August of the year 3114 BCE, (-3113). This corresponds to the year 647 on the Jewish calendar. After the Rosh HaShanah holiday in the year 3114 BCE, the year on the Jewish calendar would be 646. From these dates, we can infer that the beginning of the Mayan calendar occurs during the life of Enoch.
According to the Midrash in Seder Hadorot, (Vol 1, p. 89), Enoch served God and despised the wicked people of his generation. He separated from them and hid himself away. One day when he was praying, an angel of God spoke to him telling him to go out from his house and teach the people about the ways of God and the correct ways to live.
In the book Sefer Hayashar, ( see Ancient Tales, ASIN: B000QGVNQS ), we read about Enoch,
He gathered people around him and taught them about God. Word was sent around everywhere announcing that whoever wanted to know the ways of God and the good life should come to Enoch for instruction. Hungry for the truth, people eagerly gathered around him and he taught them the wisdom of God. Thus the people served God all the lifetime of Enoch. Rulers, princes, and judges, all came to hear him. He was loved and respected so much that three hundred rulers proclaimed him king over them. With gentle persuasion he was able to establish peaceful relations between all these rulers. He reigned for two hundred and forty-three years guiding all people in the ways of God.
Seder Hadorot tells that Enoch was the first one to write a book on astronomy. In the pseudepigraph Book of Enoch, a compilation of books detailing the experiences, the prophecies, and teachings of Enoch, there is a book entitled The courses of the Heavenly Luminaries. This is chapters 72 through 82 of the Book of Enoch, and they are devoted to describing the changing times for the rising and the setting of the sun through the solar year, the waxing and waning of the moon through the lunar month and year.
The ancient Greeks identified Enoch with Hermes Trismegistus. The Greeks wrote that Enoch taught the sons of men the art of building cities, the knowledge of the Zodiac, and the course of the Planets. We also find Enoch's association with astronomy and arithmetic in Sefer Yuhasin. In the Book of Jubilees, Enoch was the inventor of the art of writing. This is also so according to Masonic lore. The correlation of these accomplishments of Enoch and the meaning of the term Maya in different cultures is immediately apparent and surely not a coincidence.
The Midrash explains how Enoch obtained his knowledge. In The Zohar, Rabbi Aba said,
A book was indeed sent down to Adam through which he discerned and comprehended the supernal wisdom. [This is the book of The Generations Of Adam.] This book later came into the hands of the sons of Elohim, the sages of their generation, who were priviledged to learn from it and to glean the supernal wisdom. They grasped it and comprehended it. This book was brought down by the guardian of the secrets who is the angel Raziel and was given to Adam in the Garden of Eden. Three guardian angels went before him and guarded the book so that the external forces would not have access to it.
When Adam was expelled from the Garden of Eden, he still held on to the book. Yet as he stepped out, the book flew away from him. He prayed and cried out to his Master, and the book was returned to him again so that this wisdom would not be forgotten and the people would endeavor to attain knowledge of their Master.
We have been told that Enoch had a book, which originated from the same place as that of the Generations of Adam. And this book contains the inner secrets of wisdom. (The Zohar, Vol 1, The Kabbalah Centre International Inc., New York, 2003, p455-456)
Shem, a son of Noah, was a fourth generation descendant of Enoch. Eber was a great grandchild of Shem. Eber's first born son was Peleg and his second son was Yoktan (Genesis 10:25). Peleg, פלג, comes from the root meaning to divide. The Torah commentators tell us the Eber prophetically named his first born son, meaning divide, because during the days of Peleg's life, the earth was divided (Genesis 10:25). Yoktan's name is based on the Hebrew root יקטן meaning to make small or belittle oneself in the sense of making oneself humble. From this root arises the adjective קטן , meaning small. The Torah commentators tell us that Eber named his second son Yoktan because he prophetically knew that Yoktan would lead a humble life. Thereby he was rewarded with 13 sons (Genesis 10:26-29).
The Torah does not give information to exactly place Yoktan's time of birth or death, but from the geneologies and ages given in the Torah, his older brother Peleg was born in 1757 and died in 1996 on the Jewish calender. Sefer Hayahsar says that after the incident of the Tower of Babel Peleg died. From this we infer that the building of the Tower of Babel begins just before 1996 on the Jewish calendar which is 1765 BCE on the proleptic Gregorian calendar. This clearly implies that if Yoktan lived as long as Peleg, then Yoktan lived during the time of the Tower of Babel.
Shem's brother was Ham. He had a son Cush. And among the son's of Cush was Nimrod, נמרד, the mighty man and hunter. The root of Nimrod's name is Marad, מרד, which means rebellion. Nimrod was a rebel against God. Nimrod believed that man could survive without God. It was under Nimrod's direction that the Tower of Babel was built so that the people could make a name. It is written
Make no mention of the name of the gods of others. (Exodus 23:13)
The commentators tell us that name in this context means idol. For them to build an idol means they wanted to replace God.
The Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, writes that it was at the time that Nimrod was the king and was teaching that it was cowardice to submit to God, that the tower was built. It was built under his organization and direction.
Now the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to esteem it a piece of cowardice to submit to God; and being in any degree negligent about the work. And, by reason of the multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than any one could expect.
God saw that their purpose in building the Tower was not good. He divided and confused the people by making them speak many different languages. This stopped the building of the city and the development of the Tower. Then God scattered the people all over the world (Genesis 11:8-9).
The scattering of the people, each people speaking a different language led to the 70 nations, each nation coming from one of the 70 descendents of Noah listed in Genesis chapter 10. The division of the earth (Genesis 10:25) which happened during the life of Peleg, is sometimes explained as this division of the people into 70 nations. But the Hebrew root פלג also can mean division by water. Putting the two meanings together, we get a picture of people being divided by language and then the land being divided by water, physically separating at least some of the groups of the peoples. This is one way that we can understand how all the continents of the world were populated with speaking people. We say speaking people here because Jewish tradition teaches that the distinguishing characteristic of man is that man is a speaking person. Other levels of life may communicate, even with sound, but not with all the linguistic capabilities that man has.
The beginning ancient Mayan civilization occupied the eastern third of Mesoamerica, primarily the Yucatan Peninsula. The earliest archeological evidence associated with the Mayan civilization was discovered in Belize and is currently dated about 1200 BCE. There are some who think that the beginning of the ancient Mayan civilization was about 2000 BCE, but there is no hard evidence for this. According to the Torah, the scattering of the people after the Tower of Babel must have occured around 1765 BCE. So it is possible that one of the Yoktan's 13 sons and his clan was scattered, wandered around, eventually settling in the eastern third of Mesomerica, and named the area Yucatan in honor of his father Yoktan. Particularly interesting is that there is a Mayan word babel and its meaning is confusion, exactly the meaning of Babel in Hebrew. This is surely not a coincidence.
And the earth was of one tongue, and of common purpose. And it came to pass, when they migrated from the east, they found a valley in the land of Shinar, and settled there. And each one said to his neighbour: Come, let us make brick, and bake them with fire. And the brick served them as stone, and the bitumen served them as morter. And they said: Come, let us build a city and a tower, (מגדל) with its top in the heavens: and let us make a name for ourselves lest we be dispersed across the whole earth.
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of Man were building. And He said: Behold, they are one people, with one language for all: and they have begun to do this! Neither will they leave off from their designs, till they accomplish them in deed. Come let us descend, and there confound their language, that they should not understand one another's language.
And so the Lord scattered them from there over the face of the whole earth; and they ceased to build the city. And therefore the name thereof was called Babel, because there the language of the whole earth was confounded: and from thence the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. (Genesis 11:1-9)
The Torah speaks of the city and the tower, the tower presumbly to be in the center of the city. When God scattered the people, the building of the city stopped. But what happened to the tower? In the pseudepigrapha, The Book of the Jubilees, we read,
And the Lord sent a mighty wind against the tower and overthrew it upon the earth, and behold it was between Asshur and Babylon in the land of Shinar, and they called its name Overthrow.
It is explained that the name Overthrow is a play on the preceding verb overthrew. But the real name of the tower was Babel.
Flavius Josephus quotes from the Sybil, the name given to pagan oracular seeresses.
The gods sent sent storms of wind and overthrew the tower and gave every one his peculiar language.
The Talmud tells us differently.
A third of the tower was burnt, a third sunk [into the earth] and a third is still standing. (Sanhedran 109a)
It is interesting that what the Torah calls מגדל, translated as tower, is not the kind of structure in our day that we call tower. A building or structure that is much higher than it is in cross-section and high relative to its surroundings is named tower. In our times, this includes narrow steel towers such as those used for antennas and electrical tower transmission lines. But the biblical meaning of tower is not that. It really corresponds to the first generic meaning of tower: a building or structure that is much higher than it is in cross-section. The renaissance painters often portrayed the Tower of Babel as a structure with circular cross-section, such as that shown here by the Flemish painter Lucas Van Valckenborch. But their portrayal may not be historically accurate. Indeed the stepped pyramid structure, called ziggarats, may be more accurate, similar to the Mayan pryamids.
As mentioned earlier, Yoktan himself had 13 children. Among them are Ophir and Chavilah. The Torah commentators associate these children with the Americas. In the book Seder Hadorot, The Order of The Generations, and in the book Maor Einayim, Illumination of the Eyes, it says that the new world (the Americas) that Columbus discovered is really the land of Ophir. And it is to this land that King Solomon sent his boats once in three years (I Kings 10:11-12) to bring back precious corals from the sea which he used for the temple. If indeed the Land of Ophir corresponds to the Americas, then King Solomon sent his boats to the Belize Barrier coral reefs. The Belize Barrier Reef is a 300 kilometers (186 mi) long section of the 900 kilometers (560 mi) long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, which is continuous from Cancun on the northeast tip of the Yucatan Peninsula through the Riviera Maya up to offshore Guatemala, making it the second largest coral reef system in the world. From this perspective, it is no surprise that one of the 31 states of Mexico is named Yucatan, and is located just north of the Yucatan Peninsula. The Yucatan Peninsula is one of the areas populated by the ancient preclassic Mayan people and as well populated by the later Mayan people of the classic period. The Yucatan is known to have been named from the Nahuatl (Aztec) word Yokatlan, meaning place of richness. The Yucatan itself does not have any precious metal deposits. However, the mountains of Veracruz, where the early Olmec people lived and the area north of Yucatan where the later Aztecs lived do have gold deposits.
As a side note, America in Hebrew is spelled אמריקה and thus has gematria 356. The land of the Chavilah, in Hebrew is spelled ארץ החוילה. This has gematria 355 and one more for the kolel make 356. The land of the Chavilah and America have the same gematria. But there is something yet more interesting. The land of the Chavilah first appears in Genesis.
A river issues forth from Eden to water the garden, and from there it is divided and becomes four headwaters. The name of the first is Pishon, the one that encircles the whole land of Chavilah, where the gold is. The gold of that land is good. (Genesis 2:10-12)
Recall that one of the early motivations for the Spanish conquest of Central America and Mexico was that the conquistadors were interested in pillaging all the gold that could be found. That is why they were particularly interested in conquering the Aztecs, who lived north of the Mayans once they determined that the Aztecs had more gold.
One wonders, therefore, whether there is any evidence from the Mayan culture of an historical connection of them to the Biblical ancestors of the Jews. Indeed, there are at least two such connections. One is found in a manuscript written 1554 in the Quiche language of Guatemala. The Quiche people are descendants of the Mayans. The manuscript contains a brief history of their origin to their greatest king who ruled in the second half of the fifteenth century. This manuscript was translated into Spanish by Dionisio Jose Chonay and into English by Delia Goetz. The title of the manuscript is Title of the Lords of Totonicapan. Here is what it says about the connection:
These then were the three nations of the Quiches and they came from where the sun rises, descendants of Israel, of the same language and customs. ... When they arrived at the edge of the sea, Balam-Qitze touched it with his staff and at once a path opened which then closed up again for thus the great God wished it to be done, because they were the sons of Abraham and Jacob. (Delia Goetz, The Annals of the Cakchiquels; Title of the Lords of Totonicapan University of Oklahoma Press, Norman, 1953, p170.)
The name Balam-Qitze, a leader in the description given in Title of the Lords of Totonicapan, has a Hebrew cognate. Baal, בעל, is a Hebrew word meaning Lord, Master, owner, possessor. The Torah discusses idol worship of the principal Canaanite idol called Baal. There is also a biblical character Balaam (Numbers 22:5). There is an adjective in Hebrew Qatzar, קצר, which has a form Qitzar which is cognate to Qitze. This leader's name is then Short Master. The Mayans are genetically short measuring about 4 foot 8 inches from archaeological skeletal remains. They were the pygmies of Central America.
To put some perspective on the dates. The Tower of Babel is around 1996 on the Jewish calendar which is 1765 BCE on the Gregorian calendar. Abraham is born in 1948 on the Jewish calendar which is 1822 BCE on the Gregorian calendar, some 48 years before the Tower of Babel. Jacob dies in 2255 on the Jewish calendar which is 1515 BCE on the Gregorian calendar, some 259 years after the Tower of Babel. The history transmitted in Title of the Lords of Totonicapan mentions Jacob. So this history must take place not much earlier than 1515 BCE.
There is another reference linking the Mayans to the biblical ancestors of the Jews. It is in a book manuscript dating from 1566 by the priest Friar Diego de Landa. This is the priest who is infamous for what is known as the Auto de fe event of July 1562 at Mani, at which in addition to burning some 5000 Mayan idols, he burned 27 Mayan hieroglyphic scrolls. Friar de Landa wrote a book whose title in English translation is Yucatan Before and After the Conquest. In the beginning of the book he writes;
Some old men of Yucatan say that they have heard from their ancestors that this country was peopled by a certain race who came from the East whom God delivered by opening for them twelve roads through the sea. If this is true, all the inhabitants of the Indies must be of Jewish descent because, the straits of Magellan having been passed, they must have spread over more than 2000 leagues of territory now governed by Spain. (Friar Deigo De Landa, Relacion de las cosas de Yucatan, Yucatan Before and After the Conquest, English translation by William Gates, Dover, New York 1978, p8.)
All this hints that it was the some of the descendants of Yoktan, particularly descendants of his children Ophir and Chavilah, who eventually settled in the America's carrying with them some of the knowledge of their great ancestor Enoch. It was they who were the biblical forbearers of the Mayans.
With the correlation Julian date of 584,283, the ending of the Mayan calender is Dec 21, 2012. This corresponds to the year 5773 on the Jewish calendar. However, the public discussion refers most often to 2012 and 2012 corresponds to the year 5772-5773 on the Jewish calendar. The sensational part of this public discussion concerns the prophetic interpretations people have made: everything from the ending of the world to the time of enlightenment.
Carlos Barrios, an indigenous Mayan tradition keeper, says that the Mayan Daykeepers view the Dec. 21, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of the World of the Fifth Sun. He says it will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy. At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world's spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration. (Carlos Barrios)
Here, we are not concerned with the prophecies. Rather we are concerned with the event that indeed the Mayan long count calendar recycles in 2012 and that there are many public discussions about this.
Here we explore the extent to which this event is encoded as a Torah code. Our first goal is to make an a priori experiment exploring thousands of key word combination sets to see if there are any compact tables. If there are we will show them. Our second goal is to use this experiment among others to develop a test statistic from which we can determine a p-value for findings from the overall experiment.
In general, an event has the event categories of WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE and HOW. For our Mayan Calendar event, we only use the WHO WHAT WHEN and WHERE event categories. We subdivide the WHEN into two event categories WHEN START and WHEN END. The following table shows the key words we use for each event category.
The topic class consists of the WHAT event category. By our protocol, this means that one key word from the WHAT event category must appear in every table. Since we require a key word combination set to have at least 2 keywords, there are 4*4*9*5*3-2=2158 key word combination sets for the experiment. There are four auxiliary event categories: WHO, WHERE, WHEN START, and WHEN END. There are sixteen subsets of a set having four elements. So the event category lattice is a lattice of 16 nodes and is shown below.
For each of these 16 event category combinations, we will show the best table if that best table has a p-value of less than 20/1,000 in an experiment with 1000 trials. If the best table has a very small p-value we may also show the next to best table if its p-value is small.

The Iranian Bushehr Nuclear Reactor has a long history, beginning in 1975, during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, when its construction was begun. During the Iran Iraq war, 1980-1988, the facility, not completed, was bombed. In 1995 Iran and Russia signed a contract for the construction of a new reactor facility at Bushehr. That contract came to completion in August 21, 2010 when Russia delivered to Iran 80 tons of Uranium for the reactor and the transfer of the Uranium into the reactor facility was begun.
What is so unusual about a country having a nuclear reactor? After all, many countries have nuclear reactors.
The problem is not with Iran's nuclear reactor. The problem with Iran is with its motivation, its vitrolic talk, its belligerent actions, its sponsorship of terrorism, and its idea that the Iran should lead the Islamic world into a messianic End of Times. In short, Iran is neither a peace loving or peace promoting country. Since the overthrow of the Shah in 1979, the revolutionary regime has pursued aggressive bullying and destabilizing policies in the Middle East in its attempt to gain a domineering and leadership role. Indeed, it has been one of the main state sponsors of terrorist activities. The council of foreign relations publication 9362 says in its opening paragraphs,
The U.S. State Department has called Iran the world's most active state sponsor of terrorism. U.S. officials say Iran continues to provide funding, weapons, training, and sanctuary to numerous terrorist groups based in the Middle East and elsewhere, posing a security concern to the international community. Iran's declarations that it has successfully enriched uranium and developed new missile technology have heightened alarm in the United States and a growing number of other states. Iran asserts its rights under an international treaty to pursue nuclear power and that it is only interested in nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. But it has faced growing sanctions, through the UN Security Council as well as international financial bodies, out of concern over its motives.
The tie between Iran's belligerency, its sponsorship of terrorism, its nuclear reactor, and its projects of enriching Uranium even to a 20% level, a level well beyond that needed for reactors producing electricity, is that one of the by products of the fission of Uranium is Plutonium. Enriched Uranium and Plutonium are used in Atomic Bombs. Atomic bombs can be used to blackmail other states to make their foreign policies and actions in accordance with what the bully state wants. Arab states in the Middle East fear being destabilized and bullied by Iran.
This analysis is reinforced by Iran's constant refusal to satisfy the International Atomic Energy Agency and international community that its work on Uranium enrichment and heavy water projects are exclusively peaceful.
Given that Obama's foreign policy in the Middle East is weak, indeed it is a blunder, Iran's pursuit to be a nuclear power is now being matched by other Arab states doing likewise for their own protection. This makes an already unstable situation more unstable. Why? Because of Obama's feeble foreign policy: a foreign policy with no teeth and a policy that shifts and is not consistent. Hence, all the Middle East countries realize that the United States cannot be counted on to protect them. This is the problem that Iran presents.
With respect to Israel, Iran's actions in supporting the Hezbullah terrorist group and as well Palestinian terrorist groups against Israel is well known. And Iran's policy toward Israel has been consistent: to annihilate her. Here is a sampling. There is a famous quote on Dec 14, 2001 from one of Iran's leading clerics Rafsanjani.
If one day, the Islamic world would be equipped with weapons available to Israel now, the employment of even one atomic bomb inside Israel will wipe it off the face of the earth but would only do slight damage to the Islamic world.
In April 2005, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamedani who has a Moslem vision of the End of Times stated,
One should fight the Jews and vanquish them so that the conditions for the advent of the Hidden Imam will be met.
On October 26, 2005, the radical President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said
Our dear Imam [Khomeini] ordered that this Jerusalem occupying regime must be erased from the page of time. This was a very wise statement. Soon this stain of disgrace will be cleaned from the garment of the world of Islam. And this is attainable!
On Thursday, March 2, 2006, he declared in Malaysia after a meeting in Kuala Lumpar with the King of Malaysia that
Islam will be the dominant power in the near future.
On October 22, 2006, Resalat, the Iranian Islamic Eduational Foundation, wrote
Great war is ahead of us, perhaps tomorrow, or in a few months, or even a few years. The nation of Muslims must prepare for the great war, so as to completely wipe out the Zionist dream, and remove this cancerous growth.
On May 13, 2008, Mohammad-Reza Khabbaz, member of the central committee of Iranian National Trust Reformist party said,
Creation of Israel only served the purpose of creating a cancerous tumor in the body of Islamic society.
On June 14, 2008, the President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, said
Israel's days are numbered. Peoples of region know there is the narrowest opportunity to annihilate this false regime.
Towards the end of 2006, U.N. Security Council unanimously passed the first of three resolutions sanctioning the Islamic Republic for its nuclear activities. In 2007. the U.S. House of Representatives voted 411 to 2 for House Resolution 21, "Calling on the United Nations Security Council to charge Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with violating the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and United Nations Charter because of his calls for the destruction of the State of Israel.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad not only hates Jews, not only calls for the destruction of the Israel, but he calls into question the murder of six million Jews in the Holocaust. How can it be missed the Ahmadinejad is a spiritual descendent of Haman? Like the Persian royal adviser Haman,
It is not just Ahmadinejad that has the vision of Israel's destruction. The Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader and judicial authority of Iran has also made such declarations. In a talk in Tehran on December 15, 2000, he said regarding Israel,
Iran's stance has always been clear on this ugly phenomenon (Israel). We have repeatedly said that this cancerous tumor of a state should be removed from the region.
On February 7, 2010 in a meeting with Ramadan Abdullah, the secretary general of the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, he said in reference to Israel,
God willing, its destruction will be imminent.
The Iranian ideal driving its policies and actions is the role it believes it should play in an Islamic End of Times vision. The President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, perceives his personal role to be the divine harbinger of the Mahdi's coming, to pave the path for the glorious reappearance of Imam Mahdi. Reaffirming his religious views, Ahmadinejad said,
The ultimate promise of all Divine religions will be fulfilled with the emergence of a perfect human being [the 12th Imam], who is heir to all prophets. He will lead the world to justice and absolute peace. Oh mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one.
Justice and absolute peace: who can be against it? Justice? Justice means Islamic Sharia Law, universal Sharia Law. Peace? Peace means all countries and all peoples submit to Islam and become Moslems. Any other state of affairs is a just a state of affairs on the way to such an Islamic peace. Justice and peace is Islamic doubletalk. In Arabic, Embrace Islam and you shall have peace is simply a two-word pun: aslam taslam, which most literally means Submit, have peace. Until that time, what exists is a perpetual state of warfare, jihad, against all those people, countries, and institutions against Submit, have peace.
On May 14, 2010, Ayatollah Mohammad Bagher Kharrazi, the leader of Iran's Hezbollah party, the proprietor of the newspaper of the same name, carried an incendiary article calling for a Greater Iran that would assume hegemonic control over much of the Middle East and Central Asia (stretching from Afghanistan to Palestine. This would, he argued, possess three very attractive attributes: it would abolish the Jewish state; it would eliminate the cancerous tumors of Sunni Islam, [Iran practices Shia Islam]; and it would assist in the arrival of the long-awaited Mahdi, or hidden imam, whose promised reign of perfection has been on hold since his abrupt disappearance in the ninth century.
The behavior and the statements from governmental people are all similar. Iran wishes to lead Shia Islam to dominate the world and annihilate Israel. Therefore, an Iranian nuclear reactor producing Plutonium and Iran's program to produce atomic bomb grade Uranium represent a severe existential threat to Israel, to all the other countries in the Middle East, and to all the countries of the world.
We formulate a few different Torah code experiments. The first one is centered around Iran going nuclear, which when discussed in Hebrew has a literal translation of Iran Atomic. The possibilities explored in the experiment are shown in the table below.
This is the table showing the combination of key words that can form the key word sets of our first experiment. The key word phrases איראןאטומי and אירןאטומי do not occur in the Torah as ELSs.
The search produced a cylinder size of 75. With expected number of ELSs set to 50, the probability that a text from the ELS random placement text population would have as compact a table as that produced by the Torah text is 63.5/10,000. This table spans from Leviticus 22:34 through Leviticus 22:18.
The search produced a cylinder size of 75. With expected number of ELSs set to 50, the probability that a text from the ELS random placement text population would have as compact a table as that produced by the Torah text is 66/10,000. This table spans from Leviticus 22:34 through Leviticus 22:22.
The search produced a cylinder size of 49. With expected number of ELSs set to 50, the probability that a text from the ELS random placement text population would have as compact a table as that produced by the Torah text is 194/10,000. This table spans from Deuteronomy 1:17 through Deuteronomy 2:11.
In our second experiment we explore the idea that Iran is the enemy of Israel. In Chronicles II, 20:29 the verse speaks of the enemies of Israel using the plural construct phrase אויבי ישראל
A dread of God came upon all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that Hashem was doing battle with the enemies of Israel. (Chronicles II 20:10)
As Iran is only one of these kingdoms, the corresponding singular construct form, appropriate for Iran, is אויב ישראל, or with the implied preposition אויב לישראל which are the phrases we use.
There is another term related to the phrase enemy of Israel, based on the root צרר. It is variously translated depending on interpretation as oppress, harass, be hostile, hate, treat as an enemy, or treat as a deadly foe. The context in which this root is used in a Torah verse is when God speaks to Moses after the Phinehas - Cozbi affair saying,
Oppress (צרור) the Midianites and kill them, for they oppressed you when they deceived you in the affair of Peor and in the affair of Cozbi, daughter of a leader of Midian. (Numbers 25:17)
In Nachmanides' commentary, צרור is translated as Harass. In the Hirsch commentary, it is translated as Oppress. Hirsch indicates that צרור literally means to press together, to oppress, to limit someone's strength. The Isaiah and Sharfman translation of Rashi's commentary translate צרור as Harass. Rashi comments that its grammatical form (the absolute infinitive) denotes the present tense, meaning it is incumbent (an obligation) to keep harassing, continually. The Miller translation in the Gutnick edition of Rashi's commentary, uses the translation Be hostile. The Milevsky commentary translates צרור by Hate.
Perhaps we might think that the weakest translation of צרור is Harass. But it is easily seen that this translation cannot be taken literally as used in today's English. In ordinary modern English usage to harass is one thing, typically to continually vex, trouble, or annoy. To kill is another. And indeed, the first (and oldest) meaning of harass as given in the Merriam-Webster unabridged dictionary is to lay waste an enemy's country. This usage, which is quite consistent with the Torah verse, is certainly not today's common usage. That is why we prefer translating the biblical directive צרור by Oppress in the sense of limiting their strength and treating them as a deadly foe, for an enemy that one kills is not an ordinary enemy, but a deadly foe.
There is another possible meaning for a phrase such as צרור ישראל. It can also mean Oppressor of Israel.
Supporting the understanding of צרור as oppress and treat as a deadly foe, there is the phrase in the Megilat Esther which speaks of Haman as צורר היהודים, or with the vav cholem taken care of by the vowel points, צרר היהודים, an enemy of the Jews, a deadly foe of the Jews. (see Megilat Esther 8:1, 9:10). This motivates us to use the phrase, צורר היהודים, or צרר היהודים, as one of our possible key word phrases in our second experiment.
The second experiment possibilities are determined from the table below. As indicated, in each category, either exactly one or at most one key word or key word phrase is chosen. The smallest number of key words that we allow for in any combination is four. Also note that the key word צרור is a transitive verb and for grammatical correctness must be followed by the direct object indicator את. We follow our usual practice and do not look for את either as a two letter ELS or as part of an ELS phrase where it can be a suffix on the verb or a prefix on the object of the verb.
This is the table showing the combination of key words that can form the key word sets of our second experiment. The key word phrases פרסאןאטומי, איראןאטומי, אירןאטומי, and פרסאטמי do not occur in the Torah as ELSs.

Andrew C. von Eschenbach, M.D., US Commissioner of Food and Drugs, says that Avian Influenza, commonly known as bird flu, is one of the most significant public health issues the world faces.
The most virulent form of the avian influenza is known as the H5N1 virus. It is a type of influenza A virus commonly found in birds. In humans, H5N1 causes pneumonia and multi-organ failure and is far more severe than the ordinary flu. Almost 300 people worldwide have been infected with this virus since 2003 and more than half of them have died. To date, the H5N1 influenza has remained primarily an animal disease. However, should the virus acquire the ability for sustained transmission among humans, people will have little immunity. It would cause much sickness. In an H5N1 world-wide pandemic, it is estimated that between 10,000,000 and 150,000,000 people would die.
We put together for our key words, Bird Flu, Sickness, and the phrase the Anger and the Wrath. The probability that a monkey text in the ELS random placement text population would have as small area table as that produced by the Torah text is 8.5/1,000,000.
The expected number of ELSs is set to 30. The resulting table is on a cylinder size of 13 columns. The probability that a monkey text in the ELS random placement text population would have as small a table as this one is 8.5/1,000,000.
